Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends the merits of family sports scholarships and volunteerism in the community. Selmon is the youngest of children of Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon. They raised him on their farm in Eufala. Second football he was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. Three brothers all made All-American teams. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the leading lineman of the nation. Oklahoma had two National Championships throughout his time as a starter. Selmon was granted a 3rd scholarship in 1975, and was named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon obtained his qualification in the field of education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer hours per week during the college. In Tampa He played with the Buccaneers nine seasons and became an all-pro. In addition, he began his career in the field of business. In 1988 he became an account liaison officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank. He as well worked for the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no doubt that he was named one of the most distinguished young people in America from the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1982. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds when his college football career began. As of 1975, Lee Roy was a leader of the team. He was named the associate director of athletics at the University of South Florida, in 1993. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame recognized him in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 gave its Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
